Maybe twenty rabbit breeders, straggled along the Czech Republic, are trying to expand their breeds, because they want all world breeders to know exactly the breed they have. They are doing it for full third of century, but it is not sure they will get the success. We are talking about the Moravian White Rabbit of Brown Eyes.

Just brown eye of this rabbit is the great rarity, many of people cannot imagine that white rabbit could have another colour of its eyes than red or blue, but if they meet Moravian White Rabbit of Brown Eyes. At this time it is not so easy, because there are not more rabbits of this breed than about five hundred only and it could be dangerously low number.

Mr Sujan is one of the best Moravian White Rabbit of Brown Eyes breeders. This photo shows him with the female rabbit in his arms that had got honorary price of the best female rabbit of Special Exhibition in Branisovice (small town in the South of Moravia) last year.
How is the history of this rare rabbit breed? From the view of eternity probably short, but it has watersheds. Theoretical ideas of Mr Fingerland in his articles in 1971 year which described possibilities of getting the new white rabbit breed stimulated Czechoslovak breeders to try it. Firstly about nine breeders from Otaslavice (the village near the Prostejov town) had got about two hundred and fifty young rabbits, many of them were wildly discoloured but there were a few white items as well.

Moravian White Rabbit of Brown Eyes is as nice as rabbit can be. It is a breed that should be in every European swatch of rabbits, but it is a long way and not easy.
After the first wave of enthusiasm only four breeders went on heading to finish of this hard way. In the end, Moravian White Rabbit of Brown Eyes was accepted for Czechoslovak Rabbit Swatch in 1984. It was a mistake, Czechoslovak Association of Breeders wanted to put this breed into the Swatch of Rabbits among the small breeds, but after a few years it was corrected and returned to midsized rabbits.

As it was suggested, some falls and some upturns breeders lived through. All their wishes now are simply. They want enforce this nice and rarity rabbit breed into the entire of European Rabbit Swatches and into many European rabbit hutches.

Brown eye is the greatest and the most important mark of Moravian White Rabbit of Brown Eyes.
Contemporary breeders of the breed are mostly in older people, but they really want to find their successors, someone who will like this hard but nice job for ever, deeply.

Mr Zbranek is not only the chairperson of the Moravian White Rabbit of Brown Eyes Breeders’ Club, but he is completely leader man, his rabbits get the highest prices at every Exhibition they are. Maybe it’s the reason for his permanent smile.
